Coaching Opportunities at PCTA

People’s Courts Tennis Academy (PCTA) is currently offering a:

Full-time high performance coaching position

PCTA is one the most contributing and active TDCs in BC, and consists of a very unified and collaborative management and coaching team, committed to serve the tennis community. PCTA is seeking a dynamic and proactive professional with a high commitment to teaching and coaching, whose goal is a full-time professional career in tennis. The prospective coach is expected to demonstrate competencies in designing, planning and implementing private and group tennis programs, and being able to provide assistance to a varied range of tennis players of all ages and levels.

Job description:

  • Approximately 25-30 hr of on-court coaching
  • Prime working day/hrs: Weekdays 3-8pm and Sat 9am-5pm
  • Working primarily with junior tennis players age 5-17 in a group setting

Required qualifications:

  • Being dynamic, proactive and willing to work and collaborate in a team-environment
  • Coach 2 level or higher certification
  • ½ court and ¾ workshop certification
  • Minimum 3 years of coaching experience
  • Using a holistic coaching method (competent in addressing all aspects of the sport including technical, tactical, physical, psychological, emotional and social)
  • Competent in planning and following given plans (e.g. lesson plans, camps), and familiar with periodization

Preferred qualifications:

  • Obtaining a university degree in the field of sport science, coaching or education
  • Obtaining a NSCA or other personal training certification
  • Obtaining a valid First-aid/CPR certification

Compensation:

PCTA offers a competitive hourly rate based on applicant’s qualifications and experience
