People’s Courts Tennis Club – League teams

People’s Courts has several League teams that compete with other teams around the Lower Mainland. There is a Ladies’ League and a Men’s League. There are league teams for daytime play and teams for evening/weekend play. The League season runs from early April through June. Most teams complete once a week during this time. Each team provides players to compete on 4 courts. Ladies’ League is all doubles play. The men’s league is 1 court singles and 3 courts doubles. For more information on Lower Mainland, Vancouver League play please visit the Tennis BC website.

To play for a People’s Courts League team you must have a PlayCard or purchase a PCTC Spring League membership (see below). You also need to become a member of Tennis BC.

Spring League. Fees and terms for PlayCard and non-PlayCard holders.

    Fees:

    (a) PlayCard holders: PlayCard holders do not pay their court fees when playing “home” matches. They do pay court fees for the visiting team. This fee is $11 per guest per match. For each league match where 4 courts are in play there are 8 guests. Therefore total court fees for visitors per match are $88. Your team Captain will arrange to have this paid to PCTC.

    (b) Non-PlayCard holders: These players must purchase a PCTC Spring league membership to be eligible for play on a People’s Courts League team.

    1. The fee for PCTC Spring league membership is $130.
    2. Spring League membership is valid during April, May and June only.
    3. Spring League members must pay their court fees for home matches AND the court fee for one opponents on the visiting team. For example: If you are playing doubles 4 people share the court and a match is played over 2 hours. Your portion of the total court fee is $11 (1/4 of the $44 total). You also pay $11 to cover the court fee for one opponent. The total cost per match to you is $22.
    4. Spring League members may book courts in June, July and August. They pay regular member court fees (ie: $11 for 1 hour of singles or for 2 hours of doubles).
